Rafiki Africa’s work started with education. As we got to know the community, they identified multiple areas of need. Education cannot be successful and sustainable without spirituality, good nutrition, safe environment and good health. To end the root causes of spiritual and physical poverty we have taking a comprehensive and holistic approach that engages the communities in spiritual growth; food security and sustainability; community education; community health and healing; and empowerment programs for girls and women.
All our programs depend largely on the support of college Interns, short and long term volunteers, sponsors and partnerships.
Rafiki’s food security program includes sustainable clean water projects, environmental preservation and clean agriculture.
Rafiki’s first education initiative was the start of LightHouse Academy (LHA) in 1998.
